Man, 38, Dies After Forest Gate Stabbing – Murder Probe Launched
A murder investigation is in full swing after 38-year-old Saley Beya died from stab wounds sustained earlier this month in Forest Gate, East London.
Stabbing on Romford Road
On August 10, police and ambulance crews rushed to Romford Road near Woodgrange Road following reports of a violent attack. Officers found Mr Beya seriously injured with stab wounds. Despite emergency treatment at hospital, he tragically died on August 29.
Man Charged, Murder Charge Pending
A 28-year-old man has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm in connection with the stabbing. However, after Mr Beya’s death, the Metropolitan Police and Crown Prosecution Service are preparing to upgrade the charge to murder.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out
“We still need people with information to come forward and tell us what they know about this tragic incident,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. “We know there was traffic on Romford Road, including two buses and a car forced to stop as the attack unfolded. Someone will have seen something. If you took photos or video footage, please get in touch immediately.”
Detectives are pleading with anyone who witnessed the stabbing to call 101 or contact the Met on ‘X’ @MetCC quoting reference CAD1103/10Aug. Anonymous tips can also be given to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
The investigation is ongoing as police work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice and support Mr Beya’s family during this devastating time.
