Murder probe launched after woman fatally stabbed in Tower Hamlets
Tragic stabbing in Duckett Street
A murder investigation is underway after a woman was fatally stabbed in Tower Hamlets during the early hours of Sunday, 15 September. Police rushed to a home on Duckett Street, E1 at 1:17am after reports of stab wounds. Despite emergency services arriving quickly, the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two arrests made
Authorities have confirmed the victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Two suspects have been detained. A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Additionally, a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also being held.
Investigation ongoing, police urge witnesses to come forward
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “This is a tragic incident involving people who appear to have known each other. We have made significant progress and arrested two individuals. At this time, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this.”
“My thoughts are with the family of this young woman at this very difficult time,” said Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney from Tower Hamlets police. “Local officers will be in the area to offer reassurance and hear from the community.”
