Murder Probe Launched After Fatal Stabbing in Kingston Upon Thames

A brutal murder investigation is underway after a 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Kingston upon Thames in the early hours of Sunday, August 5.

Victim Dies Despite Public and Police CPR

Police were called at 2.16am following reports of a stabbing on Cambridge Gardens. Officers arrived to find the young man suffering from stab wounds. Despite heroic attempts by members of the public and police, who administered CPR before paramedics arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.02am.

His next of kin have been informed, but formal identification is still pending. A post-mortem will be organised in due course.

No Arrests Yet as Investigation Intensifies

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command is leading the investigation. He revealed the victim was possibly involved in a fight with up to 10 people before the stabbing.

“We need to hear from anyone who was there who may have any information no matter how small. It could be that you were simply a witness to the incident and not directly involved,” said DCI Cranwell. “We need to eliminate you from the investigation as soon as possible.”
