Security Guard Brutally Attacked with Bottle in Tonbridge Sainsbury’s
Shocking CCTV images have emerged after a violent assault in a Tonbridge supermarket. A security guard was viciously attacked with a glass bottle during a suspected shoplifting incident at Sainsbury’s in the Angel Centre.
Violent Bottle Beating Caught on Camera
The attack happened around 8.40pm on 28 September 2023. The security guard confronted a man suspected of trying to steal several bottles of spirits. In response, the suspect reportedly grabbed one bottle and repeatedly smashed it over the guard’s head before fleeing the store.
Police Hunt Suspect and Companion on Train

Now, new footage from a train travelling from Tonbridge to Charing Cross shows the same man, accompanied by a woman.
“We know that the man pictured got off the train at 1 Bridge and we believe he was travelling with a woman, who is also shown. It is important we identify them, and we continue to urge anyone who may have information to contact us,” said DC Jo Slevin of West Kent CID.
