Crawley Cleaner Jailed for Horrific Sexual Abuse of Two Girls
Azam Haleemdeen, 37, from Broadwalk, Crawley, was found guilty at Brighton Crown Court on Thursday 10 December of 12 counts of multiple sexual assaults against two young girls. The vile abuse spanned years, starting when the victims were very young and continuing into their teens. Haleemdeen was remanded in custody and awaits sentencing on 8 February.
Shocking Abuse Spanning Years
The girls bravely came forward in October 2019, telling their school teachers about the sickening abuse. Police acted swiftly, arresting Haleemdeen the very same day. The attacks shook the local community.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage
“Our investigation found that Haleemdeen, over a period of seven years, gained the trust of two vulnerable youngsters and used them for his own sexual gratification,” said Detective Sergeant Martin Alchin-Gadd.
“We praise these young victims for their courage in speaking out and supporting our case in court. Cases like this are always taken seriously, and victim safeguarding is our top priority.”
Help for Victims
DS Alchin-Gadd urged any young person suffering abuse to reach out to a trusted adult, such as a teacher, contact the NSPCC, or report directly to the police. Authorities remain committed to bringing offenders to justice and protecting the vulnerable.
