Burnt-Out Volvo Linked to East London Shooting
A white Volvo 4×4 was pinched in Manor Park, E12 on Monday, June 14. Police believe it stayed local until it was used in a shooting four weeks later on Wednesday, August 18.
In the early hours of Thursday, August 19, the stolen SUV was found torched and abandoned.
Police Urge Locals for Clues
Detective Inspector Louise Caveen, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “Tracking who was behind the wheel of this car in the weeks before the murder is critical. We’re asking anyone in Upton Park or Forest Gate to check CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage for the vehicle.”
She added: “Think back to last week. Did you see this Volvo parked outside your home? Or driving oddly? Even the smallest detail could help us bring justice for Otas’ family.”
Residents near Raymond Road: If you were in the area on the night of the shooting and haven’t spoken to police yet, come forward immediately—either to the Met or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
Victim Dies After Shooting
Otas, from Plaistow, was shot around 10.45pm on Wednesday, August 18, in Raymond Road, E13. He tragically died two days later on Friday, August 20.
No arrests have been made so far.
