Police Hunt Light Blue Fiat After Welling Arson Attack
Police have released images of a car linked to a daring arson attack in Welling and want the public’s help to track it down. The vehicle – a light blue Fiat Punto, believed to be a Grande model – has a distinct dent on the front right wheel arch.
Fiat Seen Around South East London
The car is thought to be in the south east London area, including Welling, Bexleyheath, Dartford, or Greenwich. Officers are desperate to identify the car and its owner as it may be key to cracking the case.
Blaze Starts on South Gipsy Road
The London Fire Brigade called police around 11.06pm on Wednesday, 14 July, after a car was set on fire on South Gipsy Road, Welling. Firefighters put the blaze out by 12.30am, confirming it was arson.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the attack. So far, no arrests have been made, but enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Pleads for Public’s Help
“A team of officers have been diligently working to uncover the facts behind this incident,” said Detective Sergeant Danny Banks from the Serious and Complex Investigations Unit. “We thank everyone who’s already come forward.
“Now, we are focusing our investigation on the car pictured and want to identify it fast. If you recognise it, please contact us. No tip is too small and could be crucial in finding who’s behind this attack.”
