Young Man Dies After Stabbing in South London – Murder Probe Underway
A murder investigation is underway after a 22-year-old man died from stab wounds in south London. Police were called to Creek Road junction with Deptford Church Street, SE8, at around 11.45pm on Saturday, 25 August, where the victim was found unresponsive.
Officers and London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene. They found the man with serious stab injuries and began CPR immediately. He was taken to a south London hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after, at 12:40am. His family have been informed.
Police Scramble to Find Stabber
The Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the investigation. Detective Inspector Mark Long said: “Sadly last night another young life was senselessly lost due to violence. The victim’s family are beside themselves with grief and we are working hard to trace those responsible.”
Witnesses Urged to Speak Up
Detective Long appealed to the public: “I want to hear from anyone who saw an altercation involving two or more males before the stabbing. If you were in the area around this time or noticed anyone acting suspiciously or running from the scene, please come forward.”
No arrests have been made so far. Formal identification and a post mortem are pending.
