The Joliet police had warned the public that Nance was “armed and dangerous” following the discovery of victims at three different locations over Sunday and Monday. Authorities have yet to uncover a clear motive but confirmed Nance knew the victims personally.

“I’ve been a policeman for 29 years, and this is probably the worst crime scene I’ve ever been associated with,”
said Police Chief Evans.
Adding to the chaos, another shooting in Joliet on Sunday left a man injured and is believed to be linked to the deadly spree.
