Tragic Jet-Ski Incident Claims Life of Off-Duty North Wales Police Officer

North Wales Police have confirmed the heartbreaking death of an off-duty officer following a jet-ski accident off the coast of Pwllheli this Saturday afternoon (August 15).

The alarm was raised shortly after 4:30pm when the man fell from the jet-ski and ended up in the water. Emergency crews, including the Coastguard and RNLI, rushed to the scene and pulled him from the sea.

Despite urgent medical efforts, the officer sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Police Chief and Federation Express Deep Sadness

Chief Constable Carl Foulkes said: “We are extremely sad to confirm the death of one of our police officers who died off-duty today. Our heartfelt sympathies go to his family, friends and colleagues.”

Mark Jones, General Secretary of the North Wales Police Federation, added: “To lose a colleague is a very dark day for us all. Policing is a close-knit family and tonight we mourn the passing of ‘one of our own’.

“In the days and weeks ahead, we will support the family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Our heartfelt sympathies are with all those involved.”
