Six Years On: Who Killed Teen Sami Sidhom?
It’s been six long years since 18-year-old Sami Sidhom was brutally stabbed to death while walking home after a West Ham football match. Yet, the mystery behind his murder in Newham remains unsolved.
Deadly Night on Chestnut Avenue
On April 16, 2018, just before 11pm, Sami got off a bus on Romford Road and headed home along Sebert, Cranmer, and Capel Roads. CCTV shows a silver car lurking at the end of Chestnut Avenue. Three men then chased Sami into the street, the silver car trailing behind. Seconds later, Sami was fatally stabbed.
No Charges Despite Ten Arrests
Police have made ten arrests over the years but no one has faced charges. DCI Mark Rogers, heading the investigation, is urging anyone with fresh info to come forward. A whopping £20,000 reward is on offer for tips leading to the killers’ arrest and conviction.
“Your information could bring relief to Sami’s family who have suffered years of grief since his death,” said DCI Rogers.
Sami’s father, Samer Sidhom, begged the public: “My son’s life was taken away for no reason whatsoever… If you’re out there, and you know who these people are, I plead with you to do the right thing.”
The hunt for Sami’s killers continues. Anyone with information is urged to help finally bring justice to a grieving family.
