M3 Northbound Shut After Diesel Spill Sparks Multi-Vehicle Crashes

Chaos on the south coast as police and Highways England shut the northbound M3 following a diesel spill by a coach. The closure stretches from Junction 9 at Winchester to Junction 4A near Farnborough after multiple crashes on the slick road.

Fire Crews Rush to Overturned Vehicle

Hampshire Fire and Rescue sent crews from Basingstoke and Rushmoor to tackle a coach that skidded and flipped on the oily surface. The slick conditions have caused a 30-mile traffic nightmare for drivers.

Long Road Repairs Ahead

Contractors are on site carrying out urgent repairs. A Highways England spokeswoman warned: “Much of the road surface will need to be removed and replaced, so repairs will take some time.” Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
