Gun Attack Shocks Orpington: Man Shot in Broad Daylight
Police rushed to Church Hill, Orpington, at 3.51pm on Wednesday, 27 April after the London Ambulance Service raised the alarm. Specialist firearms officers joined the emergency response.
Man Seriously Injured, Gunmen Flee in Burned-Out Car
A 30-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds and is now in hospital. While his injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening, they could be life-changing. So far, no arrests have been made.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Pearce said: “This attack took place in broad daylight and was witnessed by horrified onlookers who quickly contacted us and rushed to help the victim.”
She added: “The victim was shot while walking down the street by unknown suspects who fled in a white Kia Sportage towards Old Priory Avenue. The vehicle was later found burned out in Sheldon Gardens.”
Police Seek Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Officers have recovered several shell casings from the scene for analysis. They are urging anyone who saw the getaway car or was in the area with dash cam footage to come forward.
Detective Pearce appeals: “If you have any information, or haven’t yet spoken to us, please do so urgently. Your help could be vital.”
