Man Found Dead After Serious Injury in Early Morning Incident on Manchester Road

Major Police Probe Underway

Wiltshire Police have launched a full-scale investigation after a man was found seriously injured outside a property on Manchester Road in the early hours. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 5:10am, discovering a man believed to be in his 20s with severe injuries.

He was taken to hospital for urgent treatment but tragically died shortly after arrival.

Road Closed and Cordon in Place

Police have sealed off the area, with Manchester Road fully closed as forensic teams comb the scene. Officers are working hard to identify the victim’s next of kin.

Witness Appeal: Electric Bike Rider Sought

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, leading the investigation, urged the public to come forward. He said:

“This is a serious incident which has sadly resulted in a man losing his life. The investigation remains open as we try to piece together what happened.

“We are especially keen to speak to a male on an electric bike who initially approached officers at the scene but left without giving his details.”

No Terrorism Link

Addressing local fears following recent events in the area, DCI Walker reassured the public:

“We understand the public’s concern, especially given the recent terrorism arrest nearby. However, there is no information to suggest this incident is linked in any way.”
