Tesco Worker Hospitalised After Being Sprayed with Mystery Substance in Dagenham

A Tesco Express employee in Dagenham was rushed to hospital after a shocking “chemical incident” at the Oxlow Lane store.

Police and Fire Brigade Respond to Disturbing Attack

Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene just before 4pm on July 31 following reports of an injured man. The London Fire Brigade sent two fire engines from Dagenham and Ilford to tackle the situation.

Police revealed the drama began when a store worker was involved in a heated row with a customer. The same customer left, only to return moments later and spray the staff member with an unknown substance.

Quick Action from Firefighters and Emergency Crews

“Firefighters delivered immediate emergency care on-scene to one man and worked to make the area safe,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson. The incident was declared over by 4:25pm.

Victim Survives with Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

The victim was taken to hospital where his injuries were confirmed as serious but not life-threatening. Police are hunting the suspect and appealing for witnesses.
