Woman Pushed and Choked by Ex on Busy Reading Street
A woman in her thirties was shoved up Langley Hill against her will by her former partner around 9pm on June 5. The 31-year-old man also pressed her against a wall and grabbed her throat. Luckily, she escaped without injury.
Passersby Tried to Help But Were Intimidated
Several drivers passing by saw the incident and attempted to step in. However, the offender threatened them, forcing the witnesses to back off and flee the scene.
Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail
Reading police arrested the 31-year-old man on suspicion of assault. He is now on police bail until July 2 as investigations continue.
Police Hunt Witnesses and Footage
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to please get in touch with us,” said Detective Constable Jen Jenkins of the Domestic Abuse Investigation Team at Reading police station.
“If you have any CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area at the time, please check your recordings. They could be crucial to our probe.”
