Tragic Death of 15-Year-Old Emily Lewis After Southampton Water Collision

The family of Emily Lewis, 15, have paid a heartfelt tribute after she died following a crash between a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat and a buoy on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred just after 10:10am on 22 August in Southampton Water. Emily was rushed to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead later that day.

Family’s Heartbreaking Tribute

Emily’s family said: “Our beautiful daughter Emily passed away on Saturday. We suffered from broken bones, but the emotional pain far outweighs the physical.”

They added: “We are all in shock that our beautiful daughter and sister is no longer with us. Words just don’t seem available to express our deep sense of loss.”

School Pays Tribute to Bright, Caring Student

Stuart Parkes, Headteacher at Brookfield School, praised Emily’s spirit:

“Emily was a kind and compassionate young lady who cared deeply about those around her. She volunteered to support new students and was a student leader keen to improve the school for everyone.

“A creative soul with a passion for textiles and design, Emily showed great potential and dedication to her studies. She was a bright, conscientious student who will be sorely missed by all staff and pupils.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses After Multiple Hospitalisations

The collision also left 11 others needing hospital treatment. Police are investigating the exact circumstances and urge anyone with information to come forward.
