Dispersal Orders Crack Down on Troublemakers in Margate and Broadstairs This Weekend
Police are clamping down on anti-social behaviour in Margate and Broadstairs this weekend with two dispersal orders set to be enforced around popular beach spots.
Extra Police on Patrol to Halt Disorder
Additional officers will patrol Margate Main Sands and the stretch between Botany Bay and Viking Bay. Their mission: to stamp out crime and disorder after recent weekends saw trouble bubbling up.

From 4pm Friday 3 July until 4pm Sunday 5 July, any group of two or more causing, or likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress can be broken up on the spot.
Council and Police Join Forces
Thanet District Council has coordinated these moves as part of their broader beach management plan, tackling the surge in visitors this summer.
Chief Inspector Issues Warning to Chaos Causers
“The vast majority of those who visit Thanet enjoy themselves without causing problems for other people,” said Chief Inspector Ed Ruffle, District Commander for Thanet.
“Unfortunately, in recent weeks a small minority have spoiled things with excessive drinking, anti-social behaviour and even violence.
Kent Police is working closely with the council to keep our coasts safe and enjoyable for all residents and visitors.
“Our officers will be out in force, regularly patrolling and intervening where necessary. Anyone refusing to comply risks arrest.”
