Two Dead, Two Critically Injured in Smethwick Car Crash
A horrific smash in Smethwick last night has left two people dead and two others fighting for their lives.
Pedestrians Hit Hard on Oldbury Road
West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene after a car slammed into a wall on Oldbury Road at 11.40pm. The crash involved a collision that left five people injured, including four pedestrians.
Tragic Toll and Critical Injuries
- Two pedestrians – a man and a teenage boy – were found in critical condition but sadly died at the scene despite frantic efforts from paramedics.
- Another woman and man were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
- The car driver escaped with minor injuries and was discharged on site.
“On arrival crews discovered five patients,” said a West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman. “Two pedestrians were confirmed deceased at the scene. Two others sustained life-threatening injuries and received advanced trauma care.”
The emergency response sent three ambulances, paramedic officers, trauma doctors and critical care teams to battle the devastating aftermath. Police continue to investigate the circumstances behind the crash, which has shaken the West Midlands community.
