Dodgy Roofers Rip Off Sevenoaks Victim
On Saturday 11 May 2024, a gang of men offered to clean gutters and fix urgent roof damage near Seal Hollow Road, Sevenoaks. But things soon took a turn for the worse.
Shock Price Hike and Roof Damage
The suspects returned two days later, slapping the victim with a huge bill for extra roof repairs. The inflated charge dwarfed the original quote. Worse still, they allegedly caused more harm by damaging the roof while removing lead flashing.
Police Crack Down on Fraudsters
Officers launched an investigation and arrested two men in their 30s. They face charges including fraud by false representation, theft, and criminal damage. Both have been bailed until 16 August, as police dig deeper.
