Man in Hospital with Life-Threatening Injuries After Assault in Bromley

A man in his 40s is in hospital with life-threatening head injuries following a serious assault on Upper Elmers End Road in Bromley on Sunday evening (16 March).

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 8:24pm, with police and London Ambulance Service personnel attending shortly after. The victim was treated at the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further care.

Police have confirmed that the man’s injuries are currently considered life-threatening, and his condition is being closely monitored by medical staff.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and remains in police custody as investigations continue.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police were called at 20:24hrs on Sunday, 16 March to reports of an assault on Upper Elmers End Road, Bromley. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and a man in his 40s was found with head injuries. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been assessed as life-threatening.”

“A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody. At this time, police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.”

Enquiries Ongoing

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault and have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to come forward.
