“Married At First Sight” Star Peggy Rose Opens Up About Devastating Split with Georges Berthonneau

Peggy Rose, a former contestant on Married At First Sight UK, has shared details about her heartbreaking split from ex-husband Georges Berthonneau, citing how fame changed him and ultimately led to the breakdown of their relationship.

The couple, who met and married on the popular E4 reality show, initially appeared to be one of the show’s success stories. However, after the series finale aired, Georges decided to end their marriage, leaving Peggy devastated.

Peggy, 32, explained that their relationship took a turn for the worse in December last year, shortly after the show’s finale. “Boys like attention, especially when they haven’t had it before. Georges got a bit big-headed,” she revealed. “He even said on the show that he’d been sexually desired by all his ex-girlfriends. Who says that?”

Despite her doubts, Peggy stayed with Georges, and the couple travelled to Paris to celebrate her birthday in January. However, their intimacy suffered, and Peggy sensed that something had changed. By the end of January, they decided to part ways, but Georges was reluctant to go public with their split, stating he didn’t want to deal with public opinion.

Valentine’s Day Revelation

On Valentine’s Day, Peggy publicly accused Georges of cheating after receiving messages, pictures, and videos from someone who claimed to have seen Georges on two dates with another woman in December. “I was heartbroken. I remember crying my eyes out,” Peggy shared, adding that she felt she had let her family down, as they had come to trust and love Georges.

Despite the pain, Peggy believes that the breakup was for the best. She has since moved on and is now in a relationship with a new partner who shares her values. “He’s just a normal guy, not a millionaire,” she revealed, adding that they both want children, something Georges had previously said he wasn’t interested in.

Georges Denies Allegations

Georges, a former rugby player, has denied Peggy’s cheating accusations. “I never cheated on her,” he stated. “It was her actions that pushed me away—the gaslighting, manipulation, and constantly putting me down. It’s boring now.”

Despite the turbulent end to their relationship, Peggy remains grateful for her time on Married At First Sight, saying the experience has ultimately led her to a happier place.
