Police were called to Sewell Road in Thamesmead on Wednesday, November 6, at 12:36 p.m. following reports of suspected human remains being found in the area after a member of the public reported seeing an arm and a leg in the bushes on Eastern Avenue.

Forensic officers have since set up a cordon around the site and are conducting examinations to determine the origins of the bones. The discovery has prompted a thorough investigation, with authorities working to establish whether the remains are indeed human and to identify any potential connection to past cases.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that “enquiries are ongoing” as detectives and forensic teams continue to gather evidence at the scene. Residents are advised to avoid the area while the investigation proceeds and further updates are expected once forensic analysis is complete.
