Teen Stabbed in Broad Daylight
Police rushed to Fish Dam Lane at around 2pm on Sunday, August 8, after reports of a teenage boy being stabbed. Officers found Loui with a serious chest wound.
Fought for Life, But Didn’t Make It
Loui was taken to hospital in critical condition. Sadly, after several days battling for his life, he passed away Thursday morning. A post mortem confirmed the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
Investigation Underway, Suspect in Custody
Detectives have formally identified Loui and released his picture, while supporting his grieving family who have asked for privacy at this devastating time.
“Officers are working hard to piece together the events that led to this tragic loss,” said DCI Mark Oughton, Senior Investigating Officer.
A 17-year-old Barnsley boy has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared at Sheffield Magistrates on Tuesday and has been remanded in custody as the investigation continues.
