Jewellery thief breaks into funeral parlour and disturbs corpses in shocking raid
Burglary at Great Barr Co-op funeral parlour
Kasim Khuram, 23, from Kenilworth Road, pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court after breaking into the Co-op funeral parlour in Great Barr. On 11 November, Khuram smashed his way in, disturbing some of the corpses while rummaging through the premises and stealing jewellery.
Police catch suspect red-handed
The burglar alarm sounded, bringing officers rushing to the scene. Khuram was arrested on the spot, putting an end to his grisly crime spree.
Community shaken by ‘horrendous’ act
Detective Chief Inspector John Askew of the force CID called the incident “a horrendous and disturbing act.” He added, “Our thoughts remain with all those who have been affected by this crime.”
Sentencing set for January
Khuram faces sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court on 31 January 2019.
