Philpott Fire Manslaughter Accomplice Back Behind Bars
Paul Mosley, jailed for his part in the horrific 2012 Derby house fire that killed six of Mick and Mairead Philpott’s children, has been sent back to prison. The Ministry of Justice confirmed Mosley broke his parole conditions after serving half of his 17-year sentence, landing him back behind bars.
Tragic Blaze That Shook Derby
The deadly blaze claimed the lives of Jade, 10, and her brothers John, 9, Jack, 7, Jesse, 6, and Jayden, 5, on May 11, 2012. Their brother Duwayne, 13, died of injuries three days later. Mosley, 54, was convicted of helping Mick and Mairead set the fire as part of a chilling plan to frame Philpott’s ex-girlfriend and win custody of her children.
Justice Moves Swiftly on Parole Violations
“Protecting the public is our number one priority,”
a Ministry of Justice spokesperson told BBC News. “When offenders breach the conditions of their release, we don’t hesitate to return them to custody.”
No details have been released about exactly how Mosley broke his parole terms. While Mairead Philpott was freed on bail in 2020, Mick Philpott remains locked up, continuing to serve time for the fatal fire.
