Hit-and-Run Killer Dies in High-Speed Crash on Same London Road

Nathan Davis, once jailed for mowing down a woman on a London street, died in a shocking high-speed crash on the very same stretch of road.

Five Years for Fatal Hit-and-Run

Back in December 2012, 28-year-old Davis was caught speeding and smashing into hotel receptionist Veronica Chango-Alvarez, 31, on Streatham High Road, Norbury. She was waiting for a bus at 5:30am on her way to work when Davis hit her and a 51-year-old man. Veronica died in her brother’s arms.

Davis fled the scene after a collision with a Volkswagen, abandoned his Audi, and left chaos behind. He was jailed for five years and four months in April 2013, disqualified from driving for six years, and forced to retake an extended driving test.

“The sentence was ridiculous,” said Veronica’s brother, outraged by the punishment handed down.

From Killer to Victim: Davis Killed in Motorcycle Smash

On September 13, 2020, the 35-year-old carpenter from Clapham sped over 60mph on a 30mph limit stretch of the same road, riding his black Yamaha motorcycle. He crashed into an advertising board at a bus stop and was flung nearly 25 metres onto the opposite pavement.

Police reports detailed horrific injuries: multiple open fractures, massive internal bleeding, and severe damage to spine, forearm, and pelvis. Davis was rushed to St George’s Hospital in Tooting and placed in intensive care but died 12 days later from multiple organ failure.

Clear Road, No Third-Party Involvement

Metropolitan Police forensic collision investigators found no evidence of road hazards, mechanical faults, or third-party interference. Davis was wearing all the right safety gear. No drugs or alcohol were involved.

The grim irony is hard to miss: the man convicted of killing someone on this road would later lose his own life on the same stretch – in a fatal, high-speed smash.
