Top Detective Cracks Down on Child Sex Offenders with Unbeatable Success
Detective with Razor-Sharp Track Record
Detective Constable Kerry Stringfellow has been battling child abuse since 2011. In that time, she’s helped lock up more than 30 dangerous predators. Tackling these horrific crimes is no walk in the park, especially when evidence is scarce. But DC Stringfellow has proven relentless.
High-Profile Convictions in Last Two Years
- Ian Linley, 46, Eastwood: Jailed for 24 years after repeatedly raping and abusing a schoolgirl.
- Robson Thompson, 25, no fixed address: Sentenced to 12 years plus 5 years on licence for raping and attacking a young boy.
- Christopher Wright, 29, Clay Cross: Given 16 years for raping two young boys across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Award-Winning Dedication
Her impressive conviction rate earned her the coveted ‘Officer of the Year’ award at the Nottinghamshire Police Force Awards on 25 April. Detective Sergeant Vincent Clark, who nominated her, praised her “consistent and excellent performance” and her skill in handling tough cases involving vulnerable kids.
“Kerry excels in her interaction with victims, helping secure the best evidence. She’s passionate, committed, and supports her team as a top-class tutor and trainer,” said DS Clark.
Detective Inspector Rob Routledge backed the nomination, calling her “a credit to the force” and lauding her professionalism and courage.
Kerry’s Reaction to Winning
DC Stringfellow said she was “honoured and immensely proud” to win. “Being nominated by my team was very special. I’m still smiling!” she said.
She added how rewarding it is to support children and families through difficult investigations and help deliver justice and closure.
