Jackie ONeill was nabbed on CCTV stepping into a white Citroen van moments after ripping it off in Linney Road, Leicester.

Leicester Crown Court handed ONeill a hefty sentence of two years and 11 months after he admitted to four offences committed in the early hours of Thursday 12 January.
Overall, he picked up 35 months for his crime spree.
Dangerous Police Chase Ends with Collision
Detective Constable Matthew Harburt revealed the shocking details: “The victim was getting ready to leave when ONeill yanked him to the floor, jumped in the van, and sped off. During the chase, ONeill pulled risky moves to dodge officers. Even when boxed in, he reversed and rammed two police cars in a desperate bid to escape.”
“Thankfully, the victim escaped unharmed and his van was recovered,” DC Harburt added.

“This arrest wouldn’t have happened without the sharp eyes of CCTV operators and the prompt work of officers on the ground,” said DC Harburt. “I’m glad ONeill has owned up and justice has been served.”
