Drug Dealer Liam Meager Locked Up for Nearly Four Years After Police Sting
Swindon Man Snared in Major Drug Raid
Liam Meager, 23, from Beech Avenue, Swindon, was sentenced to three years and eight months behind bars at Swindon Crown Court yesterday (1 December). The young dealer pled guilty to two counts of supplying Class A drugs and one count of possessing criminal property. He was also ordered to pay £600.
Operation Accentor Cracks Down on County Drug Lines
The tough sentence comes after Wiltshire Police’s Fortitude Team launched Operation Accentor, shutting down 15 County Drug Lines across Wiltshire. On 13 October, plainclothes officers swooped on Meager’s home in Swindon. When spotted leaving his address, Meager tried to flee but was caught red-handed attempting to ditch a Nokia phone and wraps of Class A drugs.
Evidence Seized and Quick Justice Served
- Meager was arrested at Gablecross Police Station.
- Officers seized a phone linked to drug operations, hundreds of pounds in cash, and about 40 heroin wraps ready for street sale.
“This investigation was part of a large-scale operation to dismantle Class A drug dealing in Swindon,” said DS Joe Shanklin of the Fortitude Team. “The evidence against Meager was overwhelming, forcing him to plead guilty at the earliest opportunity.”
“Drugs destroy families and communities. We’ll keep hunting those who peddle this poison.”
Wiltshire Police left no doubt that anyone involved in drug crimes will be caught and punished, sending a clear message through this strong sentencing.
