18 Arrests, £35k Seized in Major County Lines Crackdown

Kent Police dealt a heavy blow to county lines drug gangs in May 2022. Their relentless crackdown led to 18 arrests, 18 charges, 10 weapons recovered, and nearly £35,000 in suspected criminal cash seized.

‘Mikey’ Line Busted in Margate

One of the biggest wins involved Courtney Cann, 28, from South London. He was part of the notorious ‘Mikey’ county line that ferried heroin and crack cocaine into Thanet. Cann was caught red-handed using a phone tied to drug deals in Margate. Police linked drug drop-offs to train times, then snared him on CCTV aboard a train using the same phone.

Arrested on March 11 in Margate, Cann pleaded guilty and was slammed with a four-year, one-month jail sentence at Canterbury Crown Court.

More Key Players Brought Down

  • Aaron Clark, 26, with no fixed address, was charged over crack cocaine and heroin supply linked to the ‘Koby’ line in Medway.
  • Jannai Johnson, 25, from Aylesford, faced multiple charges for dealing and possession tied to the ‘Ritchie’ line operating in Aylesford and Ramsgate.
  • Police also arrested and bailed three suspects—two women aged 42 and 40, plus a 17-year-old boy—connected to the ‘Milo’ line in Ramsgate.

Fighting Back Against Violent Drugs Networks

“The same people involved in county lines are often responsible for violent and acquisitive crime across Kent,” said Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Talboys of the County Lines and Gangs Team. “We’re determined to disrupt these groups at every turn and put their members behind bars.”

The Cann case highlights the detailed detective work behind the scenes that puts drug dealers behind bars and keeps Kent’s streets safer.
