Drug Dealers Caught Red-Handed in Police Raid
Billy Unthank and Leigh Goldsbury got the shock of their lives when police stormed their room in Gilt Hill, Kimberley. Officers served a pre-planned warrant after receiving tip-offs that Unthank was peddling drugs from the address.
Cocaine and Cannabis Found in Traffickers’ Stash
The tip-off was spot on. Police uncovered around 24 grams of cocaine stashed in various spots inside the property. They also seized a large haul of cash, drug paraphernalia, deal lists, and multiple phones during the raid on 2 June 2020.
Closer inspection of the phones revealed Unthank had been moving Class A drugs for over two months. Texts on the phones also nailed Goldsbury, who was caught pushing cannabis at the same time.
Sentenced: Jail for Unthank, Suspended for Goldsbury
- Billy Unthank, 25, of Baker Road, Newthorpe, was handed a three-year prison sentence for being involved in the supply of cocaine.
- Leigh Goldsbury, 25, from Frances Street, Brinsley, got a nine-month sentence suspended for 18 months and must complete 20 rehabilitation days for dealing cannabis.
Police Praise Intelligence-Led Bust
Sergeant Simon Boyles of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This case was a fantastic example of police using the search warrant powers at our disposal to follow up intelligence we had to secure convictions. As a result, we seized around 24 grams of cocaine linked to Unthank and gathered evidence of Goldsbury’s cannabis dealing during the same period. Drug dealing is a serious blight on our communities with hugely detrimental impact, so we’re pleased to disrupt this activity.”
