Paedophile Caught With Child Sex Images 10 Years After First Conviction
Kristian Fernandez, 65, has been jailed for two years and three months at Canterbury Crown Court.
The Ramsgate man admitted three counts of making indecent images of a child, sparking outrage after a decade of offending.
Police Shocked to Find Explicit Images During Routine Visit
Kent Police’s Offender Management Unit visited Fernandez on 6 June 2019, checking up on him after a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) was slapped on him following a 2009 conviction.
During the visit, officers found a phone showing an indecent image of a child. The phone was seized for analysis.
Horrific Cache of Abuse Images Discovered
Forensic examination uncovered more than 20 indecent images and videos, including 16 at category A — the most explicit and vile as per police standards.
Fernandez was arrested and charged with multiple offences involving category A, B, and C images and videos.
Investigator Issues Stark Warning
Jean Farbrace, Kent Police investigator, said: “The children abused in indecent images are real victims of real crimes and anyone accessing such images is complicit in their abuse.
Fernandez continued to access such images despite being the subject of an order imposed by a court and the sentence imposed on him shows that those who take part in this activity face prison when caught.”
