Drug Dealer Banned from Leeds Hotspot in Major Crackdown

Jordan Bingham, 32, with no fixed address, has been hit with a tough injunction banning him from a key Leeds area until July 13, 2023. The court order forbids him from entering or staying within the exclusion zone and warns of jail time if he breaks it.

Cracking Down on ‘Cuckooing’ and Trap Houses

The ban comes after a joint operation by Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Anti-Social Behaviour Team targeting the scourge of drugs in the community. Bingham is accused of exploiting vulnerable people by taking over their homes to deal heroin and crack cocaine—a practice known as ‘cuckooing’. Other properties were used as 24/7 trap houses, spreading misery among residents.

Violence, threats, and intimidation are used to keep these victims under control and fuel the illegal trade.

Police and Council Join Forces to Protect Communities

Inspector Tom Perry, head of Leeds South NPT, said: “Getting Jordan Bingham banned from the Holbeck area through this injunction is a significant positive step in our work to reduce the harm that the organised supply of Class A drugs does both to vulnerable victims and to the wider community.”

“The community has a key role to play in helping us enforce this order by reporting any sightings of him immediately. Our recent work targeting trap houses has led to arrests and drug seizures, working closely with council and other agencies to safeguard those being exploited.”

“We are committed to taking robust action against those whose criminal behaviour impacts the law-abiding majority in Holbeck.”

Deputy Leeds City Council leader Debra Coupar added: “This injunction against Jordan Bingham follows months of strong partnership work between police and council teams. We are determined to keep residents safe and ensure anyone damaging our communities faces the full force of the law.”
