Met Police Nail Creepy Bike Hire Pervert in Stamford Hill

Met detectives sifted through thousands of hours of CCTV and tracked the suspect’s every move using GPS data from his bike hire accounts. This high-tech hunt led to the arrest of Mohammed Amin, 28, from Sparsholt Road, who terrorised women and girls in Stamford Hill.

Justice Served for Four Victims, Youngest Just 12

Amin was sentenced on Friday May 10 at the Old Bailey to two years and ten months in prison. He was found guilty of four sexual offences against four Jewish victims over three months in 2021 — including the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

Detective Constable Patrick Godin, lead investigator, said: “Today’s sentence shows how seriously we take these crimes. Our team is determined to keep women and girls safe in their own neighbourhood.”

“Thanks to the Shomrim in Stamford Hill for their invaluable support and local knowledge. Working with community partners is essential to cracking cases like this and protecting Londoners.”

Community and CCTV Crack Case Wide Open

The hunt began when the local Shomrim group alerted police after a victim reported Amin exposing himself. Police swooped within minutes thanks to community tips. Hours of CCTV footage and detailed victim testimonies helped build a strong case.

Investigators uncovered Amin’s movements through hire bike GPS logs and bank records, placing him at multiple crime scenes. Phone data confirmed his presence during the attacks.

Amin’s Long List of Horrific Crimes

  • Sexual assault of a female
  • Causing a child aged 13-15 to view sexual images
  • Exposure and attempted exposure

Detected at Wood Green Crown Court on March 19, these offences showcase the chilling scope of Amin’s crimes.

Ongoing Community Support

The Met continues close work with Stamford Hill groups to support victims and ensure predators like Amin are removed from the streets for good.
