Gang Member Found Guilty of Camden Stabbing Murder
Abdirahman Ibrahim, 20, of Pratt Street, NW1, has been found guilty of murder and assisting an offender at Inner London Crown Court. The sentencing hearing is set for 30 April.
Deadly Gang Feud Ends in Fatal Stabbing
The court heard how victim Alex, a member of a Camden gang, was stabbed shortly after 11pm on 12 August 2019. Ibrahim was part of a rival gang hunting down enemies in Fitzrovia and along Euston Road that night.
Six gang members rode around in two stolen cars—a Ford Fiesta and a Seat Leon—both sporting false number plates. Around 10.30pm, Alex and his friends left a restaurant onto Bolsover Street, W1, before spotting Ibrahim’s gang and fleeing to a nearby estate off Euston Road.
Chased Down and Stabbed to Death
- At just after 11pm, the stolen cars pulled up on Longford Street, NW1.
- Three gang members dashed into a block of flats hunting rival foes.
- Ibrahim stayed behind in the car.
- Spotted by Ibrahim’s gang, Alex was chased by three men to Munster Square.
- There, Alex was fatally stabbed.
The six suspects sped away, leaving Alex to die. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but despite desperate efforts, London’s emergency services pronounced Alex dead at 11.33pm.
Police Lay Blame on Full Gang
“Alex was targeted by a rival gang which Ibrahim was part of. The six gang members acted together to chase down Alex with fatal consequences. All those present, whether on foot or in the cars, are party to his murder,” said Detective Inspector Jamie Stevenson.
Three attackers and the Fiesta’s driver fled the UK days after the murder. Two men linked to the killing have already been jailed. Police investigations continue.
