Guns Found Stashed in London Electrical Cupboard

Rashorn Evans, 26, from Loughborough Estate, SW9, was slammed with a six-and-a-half-year jail term after a three-day trial at Inner London Crown Court. He was found guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Shocking Discovery by Engineer

The drama unfolded on 5 October 2020 when an engineer arrived to work in an electrical cupboard in Stonehouse Street, SW4. Instead of tools, he uncovered a black plastic bag holding a sawn-off shotgun in three parts, five cartridges, and a handgun—a black ‘Jager Pistole DPR Angem’ with a magazine.

Police were called swiftly at 9.21am. Both firearms were tested and confirmed viable. The shotgun had been shortened, making it even more dangerous.

DNA Evidence Nails Evans

A complete DNA profile found on the shotgun’s buttstock matched Evans. Authorities arrested him at his home in March 2021. Despite remaining tight-lipped during his police interview, investigators uncovered two drill music videos showing Evans mimicking firing a shotgun.

Strong Warning from Police

Detective Constable Imran Hansraj said: “Those hiding weapons think they’re clever. But we have the tools to catch them every time.”

“The engineer’s quick thinking likely stopped serious violence and saved lives. We’re thankful for his help.”

“Evans is now behind bars. This sentence sends a clear message: if you deal with firearms, we will find you and you will go to prison.”
