Beast Jailed for Four Years Over Isle of Wight Child Sex Abuse

Sergeis Jakobovskis, 55, of Beatty Court, Andover, has been locked up for four years for abusing two girls on the Isle of Wight. The vile offences took place in 2011 at an address in Ryde.

Horrific Crimes Spanning Years Exposed

The Isle of Wight Crown Court heard how Jakobovskis sexually assaulted one girl multiple times when she was under 10. Around the same time, he also sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl.

Both victims, now adults, bravely came forward in 2018. After a lengthy police probe, Jakobovskis was charged with sexual assault and two counts of child sexual assault by touching.

Justice Served After Relentless Fight

Jakobovskis denied the charges, but a jury found him guilty on all counts at his trial in October 2022. He was remanded in custody and sentenced on 3 January 2023.

“Finding the confidence to report sexual abuse takes an incredible amount of bravery,” said DC Widger. “I want to commend these two young women for their courage and patience throughout this investigation.”

“Going through the criminal justice process is effectively reliving the trauma. I’m glad both victims got some very hard-earned justice. Protecting children is a duty we take seriously and we will stop at nothing to bring offenders like Jakobovskis to justice.”
