Man Jailed After Spitting at Kent Police Officer and Threatening Public with Baton

Violent Incident in Strood

A man has been remanded in custody following a shocking incident in Strood, Kent, where a police officer was spat at and a member of the public threatened with a weapon.

On Saturday 4 April at around 1pm, officers were called to reports of a man behaving abusively while brandishing a baton in public.

Arrest and Charges

Jamie Pymm, 47, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene. He reportedly spat at one of the responding officers during his arrest.

Pymm now faces multiple charges including assaulting an emergency worker, carrying an offensive weapon in public, and resisting arrest.

Court Appearance and Custody

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 April 2020, where he was remanded in custody.

Pymm is set to appear at Maidstone Crown Court at a later date as the case progresses.
