Cheeky Liar Sentenced After Stabbing Cover-Up in Slough
Young Man Jailed for Blocking Murder Probe
Abdoulhalim Abdoulsamad, 18, from Benjamin Lane, Slough, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. He was sentenced at Reading Crown Court last Friday (20/11) for deliberately misleading police during the investigation into the murder of Mohammed Aman Ashraq.
Stabbing Incident Shakes Quiet Slough Street
Mohammed Aman Ashraq, also 18 and from Slough, died on 4 January 2020 after being stabbed in Benjamin Lane, Wexham. Abdoulsamad repeatedly fed false information to officers about who was involved and where key events took place.
Police Slam ‘Wilful Deceit’
Detective Constable Nicola Tompkins of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit said: “On several occasions Abdoulsamad willingly misled police about the identities of individuals related to the incident on 4 January. He also provided false locations following the stabbing.”
She added: “This wasted a large amount of police time during a serious murder investigation. The sentence handed out reflects the seriousness of this offence and shows our zero tolerance for those who try to pervert the course of justice.”
Related Murder Sentence
Separately, on 31 July 2020, Mohammed Hussain, 18, from Benjamin Lane, Slough, was sentenced to a minimum of 19 years for Ashraq’s murder.
