Brighton Drug Dealer Jailed for 10 Years in County Line Crackdown
Seyed Mousavian, 42, from Grand Parade in Brighton, has been locked up for ten years at Lewes Crown Court. He was found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs on Thursday, 23 March.
HECTOR County Line Busted After Two Years
Mousavian is the tenth person jailed after a two-year investigation into the notorious HECTOR county line. The gang was behind the distribution of crack cocaine and heroin across Brighton and Hove.
Unlike typical county lines controlled by distant senior gang members, the HECTOR line’s leaders operated right within Sussex. This allowed police to target offenders at every level, from top bosses to street dealers.
Hunting the Gangsters Who Exploit the Vulnerable
The gang targeted young and vulnerable people, using violence, intimidation, and exploitation. They forced them into street dealing while the senior members kept a tight grip on the profits.
Police deployed months of covert surveillance, intelligence gathering, and enforcement. The Community Investigations Team (CIT) teamed up with the Metropolitan Police, resulting in dozens of arrests and massive drug seizures.
‘Very Devious Man’ Behind Brighton’s Deadly Drug Line
The investigation revealed the gang switched phone numbers four times over four years. Alarmingly, these numbers were found on phones of five individuals who died from drug-related causes between 2018 and 2020.
HHJ Mooney described Mousavian as a “very devious man” who exploited his role within the HECTOR gang for profit.
Detective Inspector Dee Wells said: “This significant custodial sentence is the latest step in what has been a long, complex investigation into an extremely dangerous crime gang operating in Brighton and Hove. Their supply of illegal substances spread violence, exploitation and devastation in our communities.
“Mousavian’s sentence should serve as a reminder of our ongoing commitment to disrupting drug supply in our city and protecting our communities.”
