Routine Patrol Turns Into Police Pursuit
On Monday, January 9, 2023, Medway’s Community Policing Team spotted a suspicious car during a routine patrol. A quick check revealed the driver was uninsured.
Driver Fails to Stop, Crashes on Princes Avenue
When officers asked the driver to pull over, he sped off. The police followed at a safe distance. The chase ended at around 12:45pm when the driver crashed on Princes Avenue.
Foot Chase and Arrest
After the collision, the driver tried to run but was caught by officers on Emily Road. He was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, failing to stop after a crash, and driving without insurance.
Bail Granted; Court Date Set
The suspect has been released on bail. He must return to the police station on Monday, April 10.
