Borehamwood Man Jailed for Sickening Abuse of Toddler Left in His Care

Jamie Alejandro Garcia Perez, 24, has been locked up for eight and a half years after sexually abusing a one-year-old child left in his care. The shocking offences happened on May 15 last year, St Albans Crown Court heard.

From “Playfight” Lies to Guilty Plea

When first questioned by police, Perez claimed the incident was just an innocent playfight. But the truth soon emerged. He pleaded guilty to oral rape, attempted oral rape, and sexual activity with a child.

Life on Sexual Offender Register and SHPO

Judge Caroline Wigin handed down a stiff sentence and ordered Perez to register as a sex offender for life. He must also abide by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) indefinitely.

Victim and Family Left Devastated

The vulnerable toddler’s mum had trusted Perez to care for her child. Instead, he betrayed that trust in horrific fashion. His vile crimes have left the little girl confused and deeply traumatised.

“His repugnant actions caused the victim immense harm… Her mother has also suffered after discovering what Perez had done,” said the court.

The family faced the nightmare of a police investigation and court case, adding to their distress. Perez’s sentence sends a clear message: this kind of abuse will not be tolerated.
