While drinking, Hinchcliffe made lewd comments at a woman, snapping photos of her and showing them around the pub. The disgrace didn’t stop there. Evidence Sealed His Fate
- South Yorkshire Police launched an investigation after the woman reported the incident.
- Hinchcliffe refused to answer questions during a police interview.
- CCTV footage and photos from Hinchcliffe’s phone were used as key evidence.
- Despite denying the charge, a jury at Leeds Crown Court found him guilty on January 10.
Force Furious as Disgraced Officer Faces Discipline
Hinchcliffe, who worked in police training, remains suspended pending sentencing and an ongoing misconduct probe.
Detective Superintendent Delphine Waring, head of Professional Standards Department, said: “Hinchcliffe behaved in a way that day that fell well below the standards we expect of our officers and staff, including when they are not on duty. This behaviour has outraged colleagues across the force, as well as our communities. We remain committed to ensuring that our workforce reflects the high standards that the people of South Yorkshire rightly expect.”
South Yorkshire Police vow to take swift and firm action against misconduct to protect public trust.
