Mum Jailed for Life Over Chilling Killings of Her Two Toddlers
Louise Porton, 23, has been locked up for at least 32 years after deliberately suffocating her two young children. The court found her guilty of murdering three-year-old Lexi Draper and 17-month-old Scarlett Vaughan by blocking their airways.
Tragic Timeline: Children Found Dead
Paramedics arrived at the family home in Beechwood Court, Rugby, in the early hours of 15 January 2018 to find Lexi lifeless. Scarlett was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on 1 February 2018.
Cold-Blooded Motive Revealed
Warwickshire Police charged Porton after an investigation uncovered a shocking truth: she killed her children because they “got in the way” of her life. Detective Superintendent Pete Hill condemned the murders, calling them “premeditated” and highlighting Porton’s lack of remorse.
“We welcome the sentence handed to Porton. These were premeditated murders for which she has shown no remorse and the length of the sentence reflects this,” said Det Supt Hill.
“I want to thank the jury for painstakingly sifting through the horrific details and seeing through Porton’s lies before delivering justice.”
Families Grieve in Private
The devastated family of Lexi and Scarlett have expressed gratitude for the public’s support. Police have now urged the media and public to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn their terrible loss.
