The Met Police are still hunting three men linked to the fatal stabbing of Augustus Fenton in Southall.
Manslaughter Conviction Secured
Ilyaas Maalin, 23, was caught in Holland in May 2019 and extradited back to the UK in March 2021. Initially pleading guilty to violent disorder, Maalin was later convicted of manslaughter at Kingston Crown Court on 10 March 2022. On 17 March at the Old Bailey, he was handed a total of 13 years imprisonment:
- Ten years and nine months for the manslaughter of Augustus Fenton
- Two years and three months for violent disorder
Deadly Southall Attack Unfolded in Two Incidents
Augustus Fenton, 27, was stabbed twice on 28 March 2017, first in King Street then fatally in Featherstone Road, Southall. Despite being rushed to hospital, he died the following day.
Months after the attack, Mohamed Abdillahi was convicted of manslaughter and violent disorder, receiving an 18-year sentence.
Police Chase Three More Suspects
“Despite the convictions of these two men, our murder investigation continues,” said DCI Katherine Goodwin. “We’re determined to bring all responsible to justice.”
“Augustus was attacked by a group of five males. We are making progress tracing three others believed to have fled the UK.”
She named the suspects as Mohamed Abdulhi Abdi, Mohamed Abdi Mohammed, and Mohammed Mohammed Mohammed – all born in Somalia.
