Man Charged After Brutal Sneinton Home Brawl
A man has been charged following a violent fight inside a Sneinton home that left a victim seriously injured. Police rushed to Sneinton Boulevard just after 1.15am on Saturday, 14 January, after reports of a disturbance.
Victim Found with Serious Injuries
Officers arrived to find a man in his twenties suffering serious head and shoulder wounds. A thorough search of the property led to the arrest of a suspect.
35-Year-Old Yehya Mahdi Faces Assault Charges
Yehya Mahdi, 35, from Sneinton Boulevard, has been charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 16 January 2022.
Police Assure Local Residents
“I am pleased we have charged a suspect and hope it reassures residents in Sneinton who may have been concerned by the incident,” said Detective Sergeant Lee Cattell of Nottinghamshire Police.
“We believe it was a one-time occurrence with no wider public risk,” he added.
“It was extremely serious, however, and the force will never tolerate this type of violent disorder.”
The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital as investigations continue.
