Man Dies After Brutal Assault in Southall

Tragedy struck on Boston Road near Uxbridge Road, W7, in the early hours of Sunday, 19 March. Police rushed to the scene just after 12:50am following reports of a violent assault on a man.

Victim Identified as Jerald Netto

Emergency services treated a 62-year-old man at the scene before rushing him to hospital. Sadly, he died later that day. Police are confident the victim is Jerald Netto from Southall, though formal identification is pending. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. A post-mortem exam will be scheduled soon.

Murder Investigation Underway – Teen Charged

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie is leading a murder probe into the killing. Just minutes after the attack, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with murder. He’s due in Ealing Magistrates’ Court on 20 March.

Two other men were also held: a 20-something man has been bailed pending more inquiries, while another 16-year-old was released without charge. Authorities say no one else is currently wanted.

Officers urge anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses who haven’t spoken to police should call 101 quoting reference 327/19Mar. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
