Two Teens Stabbed to Death in Shocking South East London Double Killing

Tragedy struck South East London as 16-year-olds Kearne Solanke and Charlie Bartolo were fatally stabbed just a mile apart. Kearne was found in Thamesmead, clutching a custom cake celebrating his 16th birthday. Meanwhile, Charlie was discovered in Abbey Wood, unable to be saved despite paramedics’ efforts.

Heartbreaking Scenes at the Crime Scenes

At the Abbey Wood scene, Charlie’s devastated mother collapsed in tears. Police quickly launched a murder investigation, confirming the two stabbings are linked. A forensics tent was spotted on Titmuss Avenue in Thamesmead, where friends and local teens left flowers in memory of Kearne.

Police Hunt Crucial Witnesses and Vehicle

Detective Superintendent Richard McDonagh of the Metropolitan Police urged anyone who saw a dark SUV or 4×4 with silver roof bars near Sewell Road or Titmuss Avenue in the days before the killings to come forward. “Talented detectives are working tirelessly to uncover what happened and bring answers to the families,” he said.

Community in Shock, Police Call for Cooperation

“I join the community in being deeply saddened and outraged by these senseless murders,” said McDonagh. “Combatting violence is our top priority. We need the London community’s help to stop future tragedies.”

Both boys were found with fatal stab wounds after police responded to reports around 5.10pm on Saturday. Neighbourhoods remain in mourning as investigations continue.
