Huddersfield Man Locked Up for Shocking Child Sex Crimes
Mark Nilsson from Huddersfield was slammed with a prison sentence at Leeds Crown Court on Monday. He was found guilty of 11 sexual offences against a young girl. The abuse took place between 2018 and early 2020, before finally coming to light.
Swift Arrest and Rigorous Investigation
The day after the victim’s report, police arrested Nilsson. The Kirklees Child Safeguarding Team is digging deep into the case to ensure justice is served. Once released, Nilsson will be forced to sign the Child Sex Offenders Register, keeping him under close watch.
Strong Words from Kirklees Safeguarding Unit
“Nilsson richly deserves the sentence imposed by the court today for repeat sexual offending against a very young victim,” said Gilly Hodds of the Kirklees Safeguarding Unit.
“He chose to inflict these heinous crimes and then selfishly dragged the victim’s family through a trial to dodge justice. I hope his conviction brings some solace to the victim and their family. I commend their bravery for coming forward.”
The family’s courage helped police and prosecutors lock Nilsson away, keeping the streets safer for everyone.
